Once upon a time . . .

... there was a giant called Wade, and one day Wade was angry with his wife and so he threw a handful of earth after her. We don't know if this treatment was good for her marriage. But Wade did create two Yorkshire landmarks: the Hole of Horcum and, as he was a bad thrower, he missed his wife and created Blakey Topping.

With a bit of imagination you can still see his fingermarks at the Hole.
