Star Alliance Legacy Tails
United and Lufthansa were two of the five founding member airlines of the Star Alliance when it was established in 1997.
Seen here at Frankfurt Airport on a November morning in 2013, the United 747-400 is wearing the pre-Continental-merger livery,
in which the tails had the large sweeping stylized “U,” while the Lufthansa A-321-200 wears the traditional LH crane logo.
