Auf einer Fläche von 2420 Km² ist er durchzogen von Gletschern, Fjörden und bis zu 3000 Meter hohen Bergen. Viele Seen, Tundra, große Wälder eine vielfältige Tierwelt und Blumen, sogar Orchideen, zeichnen diesen Nationalpark aus.
Der Cuernos del Paine ist wohl das bekannteste und mit 3050 Metern das höchste Bergmassiv.
Besonders Auffällig sind die Guanakos, Darwin-Nandus und Kondore. Am bekanntesten ist wohl der Grey Gletscher, der im Lago Grey kalbt.
Im Jahre 1978 wurde der Nationalpark von der UNESCO zum Biosphärenreservat erklärt.
The Torres del Paine is probably one of the most well-known national park of Chile, he lies in the south of Chile and is a part of Patagonia.He belonges to the Región de Magallanes y de la Antártica Chilena and is approximately 140 km north the city Puerto Natales.
