My name is Samiran Paul. I am a school teacher, teaching physics in Kalimpong Girls' Higher Secondary School. I have obsession of photography from my childhood. My first click is in Agfa camera in my childhood. Whenever my relatives used to come to visit our place I used to take permission to click few photographs. Sometime I used to get and sometime not. Financial position never permitted my father to buy a camera for me. While doingmy graduation with physics in Kolkata I have clicked few times my friend's Minolta SLR camera. Later, my father brought me one simple camera from Ricoh which I have used for taking family photographs and in wedding too. Till july 2007, I used to blog photos with my Nokia 3220 mobile phone camera. This has given me lot of knowledge about composition. I had always a dream of SLR camera of my own but because father's cerebral hemorrhage in 2001 suppressed the burning desire to buy one.
Other than teaching and photography I used to play violin. I do oil paintin=
g & have interest in dress making.
After the launch of Nikon D40X DSLR last year, I have started taking photog
raphs seriously once again. I have fulfilled my dream by possessing it. I am a self-taught photographer or you can say a learner. Being a resident of
a small hill town like Kalimpong where opportunities in learning is less I have to solely depend on the photography magazine that are published in India.
I am always looking for a critique who can guide me or pull me beyond my level of thinking and taking things differently as I always believe that without teacher and dedication goal cannot be achieved.
Always suggest me and express your true thought whether positive or negative. And that is the way I will learn to take a perfect shot.Thanks ! for visiting my page and thanks to those who put their finger prints in my page. Happy photographing !
