HELLO FROM SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. I HAVE ALWAYS LOVED PHOTOGRAPHY. SINCE I WAS A CHILD, I ALWAYS LOOKED AT NAT GEO AND LIFE. I LOVE BLACK AND WHITE, BUT HAVEN'T LEARNED HOW TO USE MY 40D YET. B&W IS MY PASSION. SO ONE DAY I WILL GO TO THE CAMERA SHOP AND HAVE THEM CUSTOMIZE MY CAMERA.
I HAVE NOT SHOT ANYTHING IN 13 YEARS. SO I NEED TO CATCH UP WITH THE TECHNOLOGY. BUT IN THE LAST 3 MONTHS I'VE SHOT ABOUT 3,000 IMAGES. GOTTA LOVE "NO MORE FILM CHANGES IN CRITICAL TIMES".
I HAVE TO SAY TO ALL MY EUROPEAN FRIENDS. YOU GOT IT MADE, YOU CAN JUST WALK OUTSIDE AND YOU HAVE PHOTO OP'S EVERYWHERE YOU LOOK. HISTORY TO THE LEFT AND BEAUTY TO THE RIGHT. JUST A FLIGHT AWAY FROM GREATNESS.
I LIVE IN A COASTAL DESERT, SUBURBIA. AND I AM JEALOUS!!!!!!!!
DIRT, GRIME ,CRIME, TRAFFIC, RUDE PEOPLE, AND BAD DRIVERS IS WHAT I GOT.
KEEP ON DOING WHAT YOU DO AND I WILL TRY TO REMINESS MY TIME ON YOUR SOIL. AND WHAT A GREAT PLACE YOU ALL HAVE. STAY TRUE TO WHAT YOU LOVE.

HI Phil,Congrats on picking the camera back up after 13 years. Digital has certainly made it a interesting pass time. You can easily convert your color shots to B&W using either PS Elements or a free program from Google called Picasa. Good luck with the 40D.

Hi Phil,Welcome to the community ! You can find a lot of people from the USA here, but mostly from germany and other european countries. It is a great place to waste some time.

I know that with the hook, but the title is true :-)
I did that pic at the cologne airport during a open door event with the brand new Eurofighter. But I like the ugly old Phantom more. BTW I use a Canon, too.
Your first photos are nice, keep on working with the 40D
