Voting-Center

Table of contents

What is the voting-center?

The voting-center is the place where all decissions are made, starting with the structure of fotocommunity with all it's channels, new sections, projects, monthly themes up to the decission about photos entering the gallery or not.

The voting-center is one of our areas for "members-only" which means "fee-guest"- and "trial"-accounts won't be able to enter.

You can access the voting-center by clicking:

Image:1vote button.jpg

You'll receive a filtered view of the voting-center fitting your userstatus, your proposals and the votes you already did. There will only appear those votings which you can actually vote on, depending on your Credits.

Gallery Voting

Once a photo has been nominated for the gallery voting, photographers can choose between two different gallery voting processes.

1. “Open” voting means, that the title of the photo and the (nick)name of the photographer are displayed and comments are allowed during the voting phase. In addition, photographers have the option not to display the voting comments after the voting phase is over. This decision can be reversed: photographers can always choose infinitely as often as needed, to hide or unhide the comments received during voting.

2. Anonymous voting without comments. In this case neither title nor (nick)name of the photographer will be displayed and comments are not allowed during voting.

Everybody also has the option, of completely disabling his photos for voting. In this case they can´t even be suggested. Another option is to individually decide for every image, which has been proposed for the gallery.

Additional comments for gallery images - new and existing - can be surpressed. This decision can be repeated and reversed as often as one likes.

Voting proposals in a foreign language.
Only in your own language you can determine, whether a voting is anonymous or open. In all other language than your own, images that are proposed for the gallery, automatically pass the open voting.

In your preferences (http://www.fotocommunity.de/pc/account/changeaccount/1) you can adjust the different variants.

There are several informations regarding every photo which will be explained on the example above:

Image:Votingcentera.jpg shows the photo which is proposed for the gallery, its photographer, the time of upload into the community and the number of comments in the regular discussion.

Image:Votingcenterb.jpg describes the section where the photo was originally uploaded in while Image:Votingcenterd.jpgshows the section of the gallery where the photo is supposed to go into if the voting is a success.

Image:Votingcenterc.jpgis showing who made the proposal at what time and date, the kind of voting (both options must be fulfilled), who can vote (regarding on his earned credits) and the number of votes already given tho the photo. (Please be aware that only pros and contras count ... a skip won't be counted as a vote).

Image:Votingcentere.jpg will bring you from the voting overview to the voting of this photo.

Voting

This is the screen of an actual voting after clicking Image:Votingcentere.jpg in the voting-center overview:

Image:Votingcenterf.jpg

You see the most of the information from the overview and in addition to that you find the reason which was entered with the proposal.

You also see your voting options on this photo:

Image:Votingcenterg.jpg where pro means you want to see that photo within the gallery and contra you don't want to see it there.

skip would mean that you don't want to vote on this photo and maybe come back later. A skip won't be counted as a vote!

After you made your vote you will automaticly be brought to the voting screen of the next photo you didn't vote on 'til now.

Results

After 48 hours and 100 pro/contra votes the voting is finished and the photo will enter the gallery or not. (If there are 50 pros and 50 contras the 101st vote will decide).

If the photo entered the gallery the referring gallery-section will be added into the photos information:

Image:Galleryin.jpg

If the photo didn't earn enough pros and the voting failed the informaiton will show:

Image:Galleryout.jpg
