Visibility of fotohome-folders

General

After we installed three fotohome-folders we want to make them visible for others.

First we have to enter the folder-management area:

• click "fotohome" in the mypics bar

• click "fotohome Folder Management" in the options menu

The changes can be made for all folders in the folder management area.

• to access the menu click on the little arrow in the visibility field of your fotohome folder management screen:

• the visibility changes will be made in the referring field of the folder edit screen:

Select from the following options:

hidden - nobody can see your folder (recommended during construction)

community only - your folder will be visible for fotocommunity members, but not for people with an external link to your foto-homepage

community and fotohome - your folder will be visible for fotocommunity members as well as for people with the external link to your fotohome

fotohome - the folder will be visible when accessed over the external link, but not for fotocommunity members which access your profile at fotocommunity.com

fotohome (password) - the folder will be visible when accessed over the external link, but not for fotocommunity members which access your profile at fotocommunity.com. People who want to see the folders contens need a password to enter it. (Remember that the previewphoto will still be visible as a thumb)

Making your folders visible

For our example we will make change the folder setting as follows:

People should be visible for fotocommunity members only

Animals should be visible in fotocommunity as well as the fotohome and

Citiscape should be visible only in the fotohome.

• change the settings by using the visibility-settings in your folder management screen:

After I did my changes the folder management screen looks like this:

• click to confirm your changes

Test the visibility of your photos

To test the visibility of your photos/fotohome-folders go back to "myPics - Fotohome" by clickng and then "Fotohome" in the mypics-bar:

You will see all of your folders in the fotohome-management independend from where you wanted to have them visible.

Test the visibility of your folders for fotocommunity members

To test which of your folders can be seen by fotocommunity members click Test public view of myPics:

You will get a screen like this one:

As we edited above the

- Animals folder is to be seen since we had it visible in "community and fotohome"

- People folder is to be seen since we had it visible in "community"

- Cityscape folder is not to be seen because we had it visible in "fotohome" but not "community"

Besides that the myPics screen is empty because we have no other photo online. If there would be one uploaded into a public area it would be visible now. Here it wouldn't matter if it is in a fotohome folder or not.

Test the visibility of your folders from the external fotohome link

To test the visibility of your photos/fotohome-folders go back to "myPics - Fotohome" by clickng and then "Fotohome" in the mypics-bar:

You will see all of your folders in the fotohome-management independend from where you wanted to have them visible.

Click on fotohome Link (external) to test the folder view from the external link:

Depending on the design you choosed when installing your fotohome your external links might appear differnt from this one:

As we edited above the

If you click a thumb you will be brought into the referring folder and can see the photos:

Another click on one of the thumbs will show the photo in full-size.

Password protection of your fotohome-folders

You can protect your fotohome folders with a password to define the people which have access to it.

To define a password

• click "fotohome" in the mypics bar

• click "fotohome Folder Management" in the options menu

• click at the end of the information field for the folder you want to protect

• in the edit screen set your password

• click to save your changes

• go back to "myPics - Fotohome" by clickng and then "Fotohome" in the mypics-bar:

• Click on fotohome Link (external) to test the folder view from the external link:

Depending on the design you choosed when installing your fotohome your external links might appear differnt from this one:

• now click the folder Cityscape - a password check will pop up:
