Uploading high resolution filesStarting November 16, it is now possible to upload photos up to 16 megabytes big and unlimited length in pixel. The limitation to jpg - format and sRGB color space will still exist. Within fotocommunity there is still a limit of 1000 pixel in length and 400 kilobytes maximum file size. The high resolution upload in the beginning is only meant to give you the opportunity to save your original files within fotocommunity. We are working on new additional features based on the original file sizes. In order to being able to show those large files within fotocommunity, these files are automatically being downsized. We did improve on the method in order to give you best possible viewing quality at 400 kb file size. Attention If you ONLY want to upload a photo which you have already optimized yourself, then it will be enough to upload this in the box "original file". The second fold down box will then be irrelevant. Should you still prefer to do the optimization and downsizing on your own, one can upload the self optimized file on the page by clicking "additional upload features". (You will find a fold down menu on the page with a second upload box) If you enter a file in that second box, this will be the file for uploading to fotocommunity, the first one will then only be saved on our servers.
Since the uploading of these large files is happening in the background, it can take up to five minutes until the large file will be displayed via the download link. |
