Update your profile

On this page we describe the most important and significant part of your fotocommunity-profile. You'll find information to every setting. If you have questions don't hesitate to mail them to Fotocommunity Support (http://www.fotocommunity.com/pc/pc/kontakt/1/type/support)

Username and basic-data

To access the area which lets you change your profile settings you need to click Update your profile in the myPics screen (while being logged in).

After that you can start doing your changes.

Please enter your first- and lastname. This name will be the one other users will see and which will appear under your photos and comments.

It's possible to change your username twice after opening the account.

There are some restrictions regarding user-names at fotocommunity. Follow the link to learn more. (http://www.fotocommunity.com/info/Usernames_at_fotocommunity)

Your birthdate is one of the most important informations you'll have to enter into your profile. Please insert your real birthdate, 'cause if you lie and make yourself younger than you are you might not have access to all areas of fotocommunity. The nude-channel for example is not accessible for minors.

If you have a homepage you can enter the web-address. It will be shown in your fotocommunity-profile.

There are several Messengers which you can choose from and this information will also be shown in your profile. If you check the box beneath it only your buddys can see the information.

Town of residence and Country

Here you can enter your zip-code, the closest town you are living at and your country. These are the data which are used to let you know about user-meetings or other dates in the usercalendar. They will also been shown in your profile to let people know where you are comming from.

fotohome-address

By checking the box you decide to show your Fotohome-address in your profile or not.

Profiledescription

The public profile is your business-card in fotocommunity. You should write a significant text and upload a profile photo. By this fotocommunity is designed more personal and shows that you are not a anonymus user but a real person, which is committed to the uploaded photos and written comments. Each of your photos or comments are automaticly linked to your profile. Our experience shows that photographers with a significant profile and a profile photo earn more comments to their photos than the anonymus ones. You can also insert cross-references here.

Profilephoto

Click "Durchsuchen" (Browse) and search the location on your computer where your profilephoto is at. After you found it click "Open" and then "Confirm" to prove your choice. Please be aware that the photo must not be bigger than 300 pix width and 500 pix high' and that it must be a jpg-, png-, gif-, tif- or a psd-file.

Please don't upload a nude picture in your profile!

By uploading a new profile-photo you automaticly delete the former one.

If you can't see the new profile-photo in your profile please press F5 or STRG-F5 to refresh the graphics on your computer.

If you want to delete your old profile-photo without uploading a new one, just check "delete profilepic" and click "confirm".

Confirm your changes

This is the most important option when changing your profile. If you don't confirm all changes are gone! Please make sure to click it after you changed your profile!
