Quickmails

QuickMails are the fastest way of private communication within fotocommunity. The messages will be delivered by little pop-up windows, so you might ensure that you allow fotocommunity to send you pop-ups in your browser/firewall.

Writing QickMails

There is a little oval symbol next to every photographers name in his profile which indicates his online status. If it is orange image:1on_logo.jpg the photographer is online right now.

If you see Image:1idle.jpg the photographer is online, but inactive during the last two minutes.

If you click this symbol (in any status image:1on_logo.jpg, image:1idle.jpg or image:1off.jpg) a window will pop up and you can send a QuickMail (QM) to the photographer by clicking send. It will be forwarded immediately.

It depends on the receivers settings in e-mail settings and options (http://www.fotocommunity.com/info/E-mail_settings_%26_options) how soon he gets and reads the message.

Receiving QuickMails

If you have an incomming QM it depends on your settings in the E-mail settings & options-menu how soon you can read it. If you checked "automatic receive" the new QM will popup immediately after your next click if being logged in.

If you checked "manually" there is no automaticly popup, your Image:1mypics rot.jpg will turn red and there will appear a new link in the gray box on the left of the myPics-screen:

If you click "Receive new Quickmail" the popup-window will open as shown above.

You can Image:1quickmail close.jpg the QM immediately by clicking the button.

If you don't want to answer at once press Image:1quickmail snooze.jpg and the QM will pop up again in a couple of minutes.

If you click Image:1quickmail reply.jpg you'll be led to the "Write a QM" window which contains now an additional button Image:1quickmail quote.jpg.

It allows you to insert the original message into your QM. Sometimes it might be useful to quote, especially if you receive a QM after logging in or answering on an older QM. It will help the recipient to catch up and remember what you are answering on.

You can alter your qm-preferences in the E-mail settings & options-menu.

To change your personal settings just follow this link! (http://www.fotocommunity.com/pc/account/changesettings/1)

Quickmails won't be safed by us. If you want to keep a QM you'll have to copy the text into a text-editor and safe it there.
