myPics - Your fotocommunity-"home"

After you logged in and clicked you see your personal fotocommunity-account "myPics". There are many options to adjust your account to your personal taste linked in the gray box on the left:

Your options are:

• Update your profile
• E-mail settings & options

Account information

This area shows your account's information, separated into

• kind of membership
• expiration date and
• user level (http://www.fotocommunity.com/info/Credits)

Public profile

The public profile is your business-card in fotocommunity. You should write a significant text and upload a profile photo. By this fotocommunity is designed more personal and shows that you are not a anonymus user but a real person, which is committed to the uploaded photos and written comments. Each of your photos or comments are automaticly linked to your profile. Our experience shows that photographers with a significant profile and a profile photo earn more comments to their photos than the anonymus ones.

You can change your profile at any time by clicking and after that update your profile.

Instant Messenger

You can choose a instant messenger to be shown in your profile. More information at Messengers.

Fc-user advertising / Banner

At myPics you'll find the option fc-user advertising / banner (http://www.fotocommunity.com/pc/account/affiliate/1). Besides of some banners which you can install on your homepage you find the HTML-Code for your personal button "My pics at fotocommunity".

This button is made to lead vistitors of your homepage straight ahead to your personal photo-gallery within fotocommunity. Copy this code by marking it completely and pressing "Strg-C". Press "Strg-V" in your HTML-Code to insert the code there.

If you work with a software like Adobe Golive, Macromedia Dreamweaver or Netobject Fusion you have to change from the design-view to html-view before you are able to enter the code by using "STRG-V". Some software has a funktion "enter html-code".

Discussions

Comments, written by another photographer to one of your photos, will be sent to you via e-mail if you want to. But if you write a comment to another photo it might be interesting to know whether there were more comments after yours. This usually happens when you ask the photographer something in your original comment.

To follow this discussions there is the option "Discussions".

If you click this option you'll see all photos you commented (beginning with your newest comment). If there were comments after yours their number will be shown in yellow next to the photos thumb.

Global button

The button allows you to select the view of your photos in your myPics screen as well as in your buddies images.

Let's say you're logged in at fotocommunity.com. When your global button is not activated () you will only see photos which were uploaded into fotocommunity.com - even from your own photos in the myPics screen.

You won't be able to see any of your photos uploaded in fotocommunity.de!!!

In opposition to that you still can see your fotos in your fotohome.

To activate your global button: Just click it ... :-)
