Welcome!

fotocommunity is a creative place for photographers. Here you can exhibit your photos and discuss their quality and motives.

There are several subject areas called Channels. You can find the different channels on the button-bar above.

The Subjects and Topics Channels

The photo-review comes to the fore in the channel Subjects (http://www.fotocommunity.com/pc/pc/channel/50). Every photo will be judged on its message and its photographic workmanship. By exchanging opinions with other photographers you have the opportunity to improve your skills.

The Gallery- and World-Channel

Within the channel Gallery (http://www.fotocommunity.com/pc/pc/channel/56) you find the most popular works of fotocommunity, sorted to different categorys.

The channel World (http://www.fotocommunity.com/pc/pc/channel/3) has "photos from all over the world" as main topic. It's the connection (-channel) between fotocommunity.de and fotocommunity.com. Users from both communities upload photos here.

The Nature-, Digiart-, Nude- and Youth- Channels

The Nature-channel (http://www.fotocommunity.com/pc/pc/channel/52) is a meeting point for all friends of animals, plants or landscapes.

At Digiart (http://www.fotocommunity.com/pc/pc/channel/53) you can find graphics and digital altered photos.

The Nude-channel (http://www.fotocommunity.com/pc/pc/channel/51) contains nude-photography. Due to German law we have restrictet the access to adults. The intension of this channel is artful nude photography - not porn.

To have a place for our young photographers we created the Youth-channel (http://www.fotocommunity.com/pc/pc/channel/55). All users can see and comment the photos here, but to upload you need to be 25 years or younger.

It's simple to upload your own photo (http://www.fotocommunity.com/info/Uploading_photos) into fotocommunity, but it's necessary to register (http://www.fotocommunity.com/info/Registering) first.

fotocommunity is made by its users - there is no editional staff working on the contens. The codetermination of each user is relating to has grade of activity.

The Contest-channel

This channel hosts our actual, planed and completed contests and photoprojects.

For whom is this community intended?

fotocommunity is open for all interested photographers: professionals, amateurs and rookies. Age doesn't matter - the only thing you need to bring with is fun!

But you should be aware that fotocommunity is not an online-photo-album to show your vacation-shots. Every photo here will be seen by a lot of people and some of them will comment them. Dialogue is standing in the forground. So if you're interested to communicate with others about photography this is the right place for you! If you're only looking for internet space to put your photos into you might consider to use a online-album from yahoo or excite.

What are the costs?

You can user fotocommunity for free. Of course you have to pay your usual internet fees to your provider but the community stays free for you.

Free accounts have some limitations. As a so called free guest you can upload one photo a week to discuss it at fotocommunity into almost every channel. Even most of our text-forums are accessible for free guests.

To use all features and to upload more photos you have to pay a membership fee.

When you register for the first time you will receive a 14-day trial membership which grants you unlimited access to all functions of fotocommunity and the chance to upload two photos every two days including the Fotohome (your own foto-homepage at fotocommunity).

After your trial-membership expired and you didn't choose a pay-membership your account will automaticly be changed into a free guest account. (Please remember that you then don't have the feature Fotohome available and the photos you uploaded into it during your trial-period will be gone.)
