Creating your own HTML-templates

The option "Creating your own HTML-templates requires a solid aknowledgement in creating of homepages and in HTML. A very good reference for it could be found here SELFHTML (http://de.selfhtml.org/)

You can fully customize the HTML-design of your fotonome.
A design consists of 4 HTML-templates:

1. A starting page with folders listing,
2. A overview page with all photos in one folder,
3. A photo-page and
4. A basic-page for other functions (like setting a password for the folder).

On the base of these HTML-templates your Fotohome-page will be built. The content (photos, photo title, navigation elements etc.) are linked by codes. You can find detailed description of the codes here. Homepage-Codes (http://www.fotocommunity.de/pc/egallery/list/5)
Normally it should be enough when using and customizing a standard template. This template has all necessary codes that has not to be deleted.

Editing in a web-editor like Dreamweaver or GoLive You can comfortably change any template in a web-editor. For this you should copy an HTML-code of a template and paste it into your edit program, change it and copy it finally back again.

Attention Stylesheets:
The pre-made templates have a dynamic stlesheet above between the HEADER and BODY. Here the colours and fonts can be replaced that you can set in the menu COLOURS AND FONTS as well. You have 2 methods:

Method A:
First delete the stylesheet from the template and change all colours and eventuel styles like you got used to do with your web-editor. Minus: If you use this design later, you will not be able to change the colours by the menu items as they are fixedly coded.

Method B:
First set the colours by the menu COLOURS AND FONTS like you wish. then look at the source code and copy only the stylesheet into the HTML-code in your web-editor, because there is the stylesheet with right colours to find. Now you can see all the colours in your web-editor in the right way while editing. As you have finished, replace the changed stylesheet again with the original stylesheet from your template. Advantage: if you use this design, you can customize the design later by menu COLOURS AND FONTS, too.
