Comments and contributions

Commenting on other member's images is an invaluable tool and an integral part of the site. For many it is the main reason they are here. When leaving a comment on an image please be respectful and polite and at all times fair and constructive. If you like or dislike an image please say why.

Most members will gladly accept comments, even criticism, if it is accompanied by advice on how you would have improved the image. Remember though, it is just your opinion. All images in the open channels are displayed with a 'Post comment' button ... and as such when displaying an image you are inviting comments that potentially, may include constructive criticism. If you do not wish to receive comments of this type please clearly indicate this in the 'description' text box when uploading your image. Placing comments is simple ... click on the 'Post comment' button at the bottom left of the page underneath the image you wish to comment on. Type your comment in the text box that appears on your screen. When you have finished your comment simply press the 'Publish' button below and your comment will displayed for all users to see. You may return to your comment at any time to edit or delete it by simply clicking on the red 'e' button beside your comment. Having made a comment you can watch for any further comments on the image by clicking on the 'Discuss' button in the 'my Pics' section of your account. The number of new comments are highlighted in yellow - simply click on the image in question to view the image and all comments, including the new ones.

As you can see your name will automaticly be added. Just write your text and click publish. The window will disappear and your comment will be visible under the photo.

Depending on your internet connection it could take a few seconds.

If your comment doesn't appear after the window disappeared, please press "Ctrl"+"F5" on your keyboard to empty your cache and reload the site.

How do I insert a photothumb into a comment

There is a photonumber under every photo. It's shown in brackets.

Copy this number (including the text and the brackets) into your comment and click publish. Now the thumb will be added into your comment and people will be lead to the referring photo if they click the thumb.

You can insert up to four thumbs into every comment/posting.
