Monthly Theme- November 2013 – ”That was Yesterday – Vintage”

At the beginning of the month I will post a photo topic for the month. Anyone interested in participating can post an image in the thread to show how you depict the topic.

This month’s theme will be “That was Yesterday – Vintage” . Show us your Interpretation of the theme.

contemporary city slickers walking through hamburg’s alster arcades, where the christmas decorations are already up: giant shiny plastic ribbons. this year they are purple, and it’s the strangest thing: they render everything eerily nostalgic! i spent a half hour simply shooting into the ribbons, capturing reflections of what was going on behind me: fin de siécle people flaneuring along in the most beautiful november light! the buildings in the distinguished „meissen china“ shop window are reflected reflections from across the binnenalster. november is a good time for arcade shots because the light reaches all the way in and creates lovely shadows against the white pillars.
