Bi-Monthly Theme- December 2014 thru January 2015 – “Street Portraits”

Every two months I will post a photo challenge and topic. Anyone interested in participating can post an image in the thread to show how you depict the topic.

The theme for Dec 2014 and Jan 2015 will be “Street Portraits”. Either traditional or environmental.

Street Portrait -
Photograph generally depicting only the face, head and shoulders taken in the street or public place.

Environmental Portraits -
An environmental portrait is a portrait executed in the subject's usual environment, such as in their home or workplace, and typically illuminates the subject's life and surroundings.

By photographing a person in their natural surroundings, it is thought that you will be able to better illuminate their character, and therefore portray the essence of their personality, rather than merely a likeness of their physical features.

There are different thoughts about how to go about capturing these image, some say to just walk up and take the photograph while other say to ask for permission. Which way is right is up to you and what you are comfortable with.

or environmental portraits or both ..... your images yesterday were a series of environmental ones -
I think.
