Any Nikon Coolpix p5100 users

hi! I'm also lovin this camera, although now I am aware of its limitations. but still it's better than the conventional compact digital cameras. even my dslr friends love my baby nikon p5100, although still dslr is the best deal out there for anyone who wishes to seriously excel in photography. good thing you can still improve on your photos by maximizing the features of your nikon. it can give you awesome shots as long as you know how to use its little wonders. good shots meaning good lighting as judged by using the histogram function, proper aperture for indoor and outdoor shots, shutter speed for still/motion photography and short/long exposures(perfect for night shots), difference of macro from landscape shots, etc. this really cool and easy to follow website teaches you tips and tricks on photography basics on any digital camera. http://www.advancedphotography.net/

Epson scanners

I have thousands of 6 x 4.5 cm transparencies and negatives which I want to scan and then view by projection, on a tv screen or a monitor.

I have looked at the specifications for the Epson V500 and V700 scanners and I'm not sure what the difference is between them.
They seem to have the same resolution.
Is there a difference in tonal gradation between scans from these scanners?
Would there be a visible difference in quality on projection?
What advantage does the dual lense system have in the V700?
The V500 seems to have more software than the V700?

I would want to have some prints done from scans, both colour and B&W, but the sheer number of original images precludes printing more than a small proportion of them.

Thanks in advance for any learned replies.

SteveW.
