CF Cards maximum useage ..

I read in my 300d manual that eventually my CF card will reach a certain number of uses and will no longer be useable ... also in xoom browser it states that i have 'x' number of shots left ... which seems to confirm this finite useage - anyone know about this and why it should happen ... surely if i format the card it is completely cleared ..

Actually, everything in this world will die 8-)). Somewhen your car will no longer be useable, too. Just buy and insert a new CF (it seems to me like your CF is already old). The normal usage limit should be by CF's not less than 1 000 000 pictures
