I am looking at this camera to buy. (It will be my first digital SLR camera) Looks like a great camera. Reviews in photo magazines have been positive. Some noise issues?

I am interested in what lens you are using with your 50D.

Noise is ok but 40D performs better.

Sorry to take so long for a reply. Go to my profile to see my lenses. I really love the 50D. I did not like the Nikon
as much.

Hi ,
I am using a Canon 50D also and was wondering if I would be better of to save for a canon 5D, because of the the full frame. Do you think the 50D is ok with a good wide angle lens?
What is your experience? I am thankful for any more info from other canon 50D users.
Greetings,
Marita

I HAVE THE 50D AND 40D,I HAVE DONE LOTS OF COMPARISONS, USING A TRIPOD AND TAKING THE SAME SHOTS ON BOTH CAMERAS USING THE SAMES LENSES.
THE 40D IS LESS NOISY, BUT ONLY NOTICABLE ABOVE 400 ISO, THE 50D HAS A REALLY GOOD RESOLUTION, I WILL HAVE TO UPGRADE MY 17-85 LENS TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT.

dyingbride, I hope by now you have downloaded the 50D manual in English from the Canon web site. A manual is not much use in the field anyway, so you may as well sit in front of your computer reading the manual and playing with the camera to prepare for photo outings.

I love my 50D and I would certainly recommend this camera for anyone who wants to get into a DSLR. I first bought a Rebel XT, then an XTi and I still have them both but they always left me wanting more. About a year after purchasing the XTi I bought my 50D. It took me some time to get used to all of the controls and modes. One of my favourite things to do is put on my 50mm f/1.8 and take a walk through my town looking for interesting opportunities. I always shoot in RAW mode which makes for 15-20mb per image. It's a great camera with great features and I highly recommend it.

I think a small canon digetal camera for biggeners. I have a canon witch i worked with my first 3 years. Now,ihave a bigger camera but i use the canon for every day pictures. The canon is the best brand for biggenirs!!!

hope this helps people looking for cameras!
