Hi! I recently came across a young talented artist. I just loved her work. It is kind of digital art, but the only things she use is her camera and photoshop. So i was wondering how does she get that kind of pictures as result?
It must be something with layers, but i still dont get it. Please help!
P.S. i'm not a noob in Photoshop, i was just wondering what should i use: layers or textures, gradient or hue, offset or glow etc..? What should i use to reach this result/effect?

Here is her site: http://www.photosight.ru/users/16172/
and those are sample of her photo's:

Well it really looks different and beautiful. I believe in order to get this kind of images you need a number of different images that are compiled together with the help of layers. I suppose you need to work on each layer separately and you need to be good with brushes.

But i can not give more info on how because i do not know more my self.

Good luck.
Greetings,
Maria

Hi Karina,
Maria is correct - the Photoshop technique requires creating layers of images and using the add or subtract brush to show or hide the various parts of the composition until you have your final image. You can also modify the hues, saturations and brightness of all or part of the image. There are also "filters" which can be applied to create effects such as "glow", "antique", "grain" etc. Many of these "filters" are sold separately and work as "plug-in" programs with photoshop.

One hardware tool that is VERY helpful is a tablet pointing device (such as WACOM makes) that replaces your mouse with a pen and tablet. It is much easier to work the brushes with this device.

FWIW: photoshop is not an easy or intuitive program to learn (even though it is the "industry standard"). You may find another program (such as correl draw or microsoft digital image editor) to be easier to use and just as effective.

And I can't help mentioning that the software is just a tool to help you reach the vision that your imagination has already created. The vision is the most important part ... learning to work the software is the most frustrating part.

best wishes

Karina, Mark is quite right. A useful site is www.retouchpro.com. Take a look. Also take a look at

http://www.rebecca-parker.co.uk/

It takes time and a lot of work using multiple layers.

A great magazine which you can see online is 'Photoshop Creative'

http://www.pshopcreative.co.uk/

You have plenty of time to learn and your photos are good.

Look at Inez' work. She does not use Photoshop but creates wonderfull effects. Speak to her!

to start an image, or similar like this
http://img510.imageshack.us/my.php?image=1243050ed7.jpg
you need to have the pre-finished idea in your head.
shoot the model in the pose that you are thinking of and than several different headshots.
cut the faces you like out, that work, to place them into her hands ...and vola..you have something like this or similar
...I hope this helps
